These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Rooted & Becoming, Rooted & Becoming Coaching, LLC (“Rooted & Becoming,” “we,” or “us”). They apply to your use of www.rootedandbecomingcoaching.com and everything on it, including our content, free resources, and coaching programs (the “Website”).
By using the Website, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Coaching Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
Privacy Policy and Coaching Disclaimer
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information. Our Coaching Disclaimer explains that Rooted & Becoming offers coaching, not therapy or medical care. Both are part of these Terms.
Using the Website
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Website or join our programs.
We may update, change, or remove any part of the Website at any time without notice. We work to keep information accurate and current, but we cannot promise it always will be.
Lawful and Respectful Use
Please use the Website only for lawful, personal purposes. Do not post or send anything that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or that violates someone else’s rights.
For Educational and Informational Purposes Only
All content, resources, and materials on the Website, free or paid (“Resources”), are for educational and informational purposes only. They are not therapy, medical advice, or a substitute for care from a licensed professional. We are not responsible for errors or omissions.
The Reflection Guide and Other Free Resources
When you share your email address to receive the Rooted & Becoming Reflection Guide or another free resource, we give you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use it for your own personal reflection. You may not sell, change, copy, share publicly, or distribute it without our written permission.
What You Share With Us
If you send us feedback, a testimonial, or other content, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to use it to share and promote Rooted & Becoming. We will not use your full name or any identifying details from a testimonial without your permission. Please only share content you have the right to share.
Our Intellectual Property
Everything on the Website belongs to Rooted & Becoming or the people who license it to us. This includes text, the Rooted & Becoming name and logo, the Rooted & Becoming Framework, worksheets, graphics, photos, and videos. You may use the Website for your own personal use. You may not copy, share, change, sell, or use any of it for other purposes without our written permission.
Coaching Programs
Rooted & Becoming offers individual coaching and group coaching, including Midlife Unscripted. When you enroll, you may receive a separate coaching agreement with more details. If that agreement differs from these Terms, the coaching agreement controls for that program.
In group coaching, please keep what other participants share private. Live group sessions are not recorded.
Payments and Refunds
Prices are listed on the Website and may change. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor.
Midlife Unscripted: Cancellations made at least 14 days before the first session receive a full refund. After that, program fees are nonrefundable, including for missed sessions or leaving after the group begins. If you choose a payment plan, you agree to pay the full program fee.
Third-Party Links and Recommendations
The Website may link to other websites or mention books, tools, or experts. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and a mention is not an endorsement. If we ever use affiliate links, we will say so.
No Warranties
The Website and Resources are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful code, so please protect your own devices. We use reasonable security measures, but no website is completely secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rooted & Becoming and Heather Pierce are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to your use of the Website, Resources, or programs.
Indemnification
You agree to protect and hold Rooted & Becoming harmless from any claims, damages, or costs that come from your use of the Website or your breach of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms

General Terms
Headings are for convenience only. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Coaching Disclaimer are the full agreement between you and Rooted & Becoming about the Website. Any waiver must be in writing.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Oregon. Before going to court, both parties agree to try to resolve the dispute through good-faith mediation.
