Midlife Coaching
Come back to yourself and what matters to you now.
Build self-compassion, strengthen trust in your own choices, and get clearer about what you want and need in this part of your life.
You may know yourself well and still find it hard to do things differently.
Maybe you know the boundary you want to set but still feel guilty when someone is disappointed. A decision can feel right at first, only for second-guessing to show up later. And when you make a mistake or don’t get something right, self-criticism can take over quickly.
Or perhaps there isn’t one particular problem you’re trying to solve. You’ve just started questioning expectations you’ve carried for years or wondering what you actually want now.
Midlife can bring some of these questions into sharper focus as relationships, responsibilities, priorities, work, or your relationship with your body change. It can also bring a desire for more freedom, honesty, or room to live differently.
“Maybe the invitation of midlife isn't to become a completely different person. Maybe it's to listen more closely to the person we've become.”
Knowing yourself is one thing. Learning to respond differently takes practice.
Rooted & Becoming gives you opportunities to apply what you already understand about yourself to everyday life.
Imagine what it might be like to...
Trust a decision without asking as many people what they think.
Practice holding a boundary even when guilt shows up.
Respond to yourself with more compassion after a mistake.
Make choices based on what matters to you, rather than what you think is expected of you.
Make more room for something you want or need.
Over time, the practice is learning to listen to yourself and make choices based on your own values, needs, and priorities.
THE ROOTED & BECOMING FRAMEWORK
A framework for coming back to yourself and putting what matters into practice.
The Rooted & Becoming Framework gives you a way to explore where you are now, question what no longer fits, reconnect with what matters, and practice bringing what you learn into everyday life.
-
Come Back to Where You Are
Where am I now?
Notice where your energy is going, what needs your attention, and what feels different in your life right now.
-
Question What No Longer Fits
What am I outgrowing?
Notice the expectations, roles, patterns, and ideas you've been carrying. Consider what still fits, what you may be outgrowing, and what you might want to carry differently.
-
Listen for What Is Already There
What matters to me?
Listen for your wants, values, strengths, and parts of yourself that may be asking for more attention.
-
Practice What Matters
How might I begin living it?
Take what you’re learning and try it in the choices, boundaries, conversations, and experiences that make up your daily life.

Hi, I’m Heather!
I’m Heather Pierce, LMFT, founder and coach at Rooted & Becoming.
I’ve worked as a therapist since 2013, and much of my work has focused on body image, perfectionism, self-criticism, identity, belonging, and life transitions.
Over the years, I’ve seen how much time and energy people can spend trying to get things right, meet other people’s expectations, or feel like they’re finally doing enough. Those experiences helped lead me to create Rooted & Becoming.
My coaching is grounded in self-compassion and learning to trust yourself more. I’ll ask questions, offer support, and help you explore what matters to you so you can make choices that feel like your own.
Free Reflection Guide
Not sure what you want right now? Start with where you are.
The Rooted & Becoming Reflection Guide gives you a place to step away from what you think you should have figured out and spend some time considering what feels true for you now.
Through a few simple reflections, you’ll explore:
Where am I now?
What am I outgrowing?
What matters to me?
How might I begin living it?
Use the guide to notice where your energy and attention go, consider what may no longer fit, and clarify what you want to make more room for.
